“My wife and I happened upon Ryan by pure luck... ok, she might read this and I learned in the How To Create A Happy Home book that you never share credit with your wife when you can give it all to her, so what I meant to say is... My wife found Ryan, and I am very, very happy she did. My wife and I got married on May 24, 2009 and Ryan and his beautiful assistant Emily, captured it all masterfully. As wedding planning went, finding the photographer was probably the hardest part for us. Every friend, family member and coworker knows a guy in the business. We ended up looking at a ton of websites and other photographers work. We weren't impressed and we really didn't like the cookie cutter feel of the recycled poses everyone seemed to use. We wanted something different. When we... I mean my wife, saw Ryan's web-page (ryanholloway.smugmug.com), we knew we happened upon that "something different" we had been searching for. We contracted him for engagement photos and the wedding. I had never heard of engagement photos before I learned from my then-fiance that they are a must have. Ryan met us one chilly October morning down by the water in Alexandria. For the sake of art, we lost the jackets and stared into the sun for an hour. I am very glad we did, because they turned out great and we ended up using them for Christmas gifts and in all forms of propaganda that was created building up to the big day. The day of the wedding, Ryan and Emily were prompt, never obtrusive, and complete professionals. They never seemed to be in the way, but after seeing the pictures it was obvious they were everywhere. Even those normally dreaded shots you have to take with just brothers, then just sister, then both, then with parents, and repeat... all went by comfortably and relaxed thanks to their demeanor. I also learned after seeing the pictures is that what Ryan really excels at is his ability to capture the feelings and emotions in every shot. The artistic touch and personality he put on every picture is amazing. As I mentioned, finding a photographer we wanted was the hardest part of our wedding planning preparations. Ryan Holloway Photography ended up blowing away our expectations. We were very lucky to have had Ryan and Emily capture such a huge day in our lives.”

My family is very happy to have found Ryan. I'm a working mom of two kids under 3 and I love taking pictures of my kids. I had tried taking them to studios, but, I'm not a big fan of the assembly line feel you get. They rush you in and give you 10 minutes and out you go. If I got lucky one of the pictures they took would have both of my kids smiling. Last September I decided that I wanted family pictures to keep for years to come and with a little luck we found Ryan. He met us at a park in Virginia and spent over an hour with us. My eldest daughter happily started to run around because she loves being outdoors and Ryan ran after her snapping away pictures. He took pictures of my kids individually and also of the four of us. Ryan was able to capture a very special family event on camera and every time I look at the pictures all I can say is WOW, these are pictures that our family will cherish for many years to come.
